The Razer BlackShark V3 X HyperSpeed PS5 is a mid-range wireless gaming headset priced at €119.99. Its strengths include detailed sound, flexible connectivity and long battery life, while comfort and fit are less successful.

Weighing 270 grams, the headset is designed to reduce fatigue during longer sessions. However, its ear cushions can press against the lower part of the face, and the headband’s limited adjustment may make it difficult to achieve a secure fit on smaller heads. A control wheel on the right ear cup adjusts audio and the level of the wearer’s voice heard through the headset.

Sound is a highlight. The second-generation 50 mm Razer TriForce drivers deliver clear, detailed and powerful audio. In first-person shooters, the review found that positional cues made it easier to pinpoint opponents’ locations. Surround 7.1 audio is available through Razer Synapse.

For voice chat, the headset has a removable 9.9 mm Razer HyperClear cardioid microphone, which captures speech clearly while filtering unwanted background noise.

The headset can connect over 2.4 GHz wireless using its USB dongle, Bluetooth or a direct USB cable. SmartSwitch Dual Wireless lets users switch between 2.4 GHz and Bluetooth with a button press, but the two wireless sources cannot play audio at the same time.

Battery life reaches up to 70 hours over 2.4 GHz, according to the review. A full charge takes about four and a half hours, while 15 minutes of charging can provide six hours of use. Gaming can continue over USB when the battery is low.

Overall, the BlackShark V3 X HyperSpeed PS5 combines detailed positional audio, flexible connections and extended battery life at €119.99, but its ear cushions and restricted headband adjustment are notable drawbacks.
