Sony’s Bend Studio could announce and release its next game in 2027, according to a report by MP1st, which cites people familiar with the studio’s work. The game is reportedly a third-person title with co-op support and no live-service elements.

The report does not say whether the project is based on a new or existing intellectual property, but says it is not a sequel to Days Gone. It also describes the game as further along in development than some may expect.

Bend announced in 2022 that it was working on a new IP drawing on the open-world systems of Days Gone and featuring multiplayer elements. In 2024, a job listing described a project at the studio as a triple-A live-service game. That unannounced project was cancelled in 2025, followed a few months later by layoffs at the studio.

Bend has not publicly shared details of its current project since the cancellation. The latest report suggests the studio moved on to a new game, though Sony has not announced it.
