Thief: The Dark Project Remastered will launch on December 3, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Xbox, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch and PC. The PC release will be available through Steam, the Epic Games Store and GOG. Atari, Nightdive Studios and Eidos Montréal announced the release date.
Pre-orders are open, with two digital editions available. The Standard Edition costs €29.99 and includes the game. The €34.99 Digital Deluxe Edition also includes an art-making diary, the soundtrack and a preview of the Thief: The Dark Project novel. Physical editions for PS5 and Switch 2 are also planned, distributed by Clear River Games.
Built with Nightdive Studios’ KEX Engine, the remaster includes Thief: The Dark Project alongside its additional content, missions and updates from Thief: Gold. The package contains 15 missions, including additions that expand the story and introduce five new enemy types. Technical upgrades include new textures, improved models and animations, and support for resolutions up to 4K at 120 fps.
Players return as Garrett, an orphan raised by the secretive Keepers and trained to become a master thief. Originally released in 1998, Thief: The Dark Project was known for emphasizing stealth and infiltration over combat.
