Bulkhead Studios will give the WARDOGS development team all of December off, CEO Joe Brammer said in an interview with Edge. He also encouraged players to spend the month playing Grand Theft Auto 6 while the developers take a break.

Brammer said staff had taken on tasks beyond their formal roles, with team members wearing “multiple hats” because they could see how their work might help the game succeed. He described the workload of recent months as a reason for the extended break.

“We need to detox,” Brammer said, joking that players should leave the team alone during December and play GTA 6 instead. The studio expects to return in January to reports of bugs and complaints from WARDOGS players.

WARDOGS entered Steam Early Access in September. The first-person tactical action game has faced development challenges but has become one of the best-selling titles in its genre in recent years, according to the source.
