Helen Chiang says she was dismissed from Microsoft after three months as Xbox’s chief operating officer, denying allegations of inappropriate conduct and questioning how the decision was handled. Her departure is the first high-profile exit from Xbox’s senior leadership team during Asha Sharma’s tenure, according to the report.

In a LinkedIn message, Chiang said she had not violated Microsoft policies, despite claims made by some websites, and rejected speculation that she had disclosed confidential information. She also said she had not chosen to leave for a competitor.

Chiang wrote that she had spent two decades at Microsoft building what she described as deep loyalty to the people and teams she helped create. She said her goal had always been to continue building at Xbox, rather than treating the role as another step in her career.

She added that her results and treatment of colleagues should speak for themselves, and said she did not believe she had been treated fairly or responsibly. Chiang also called for standards of fairness and accountability to be applied consistently, saying she had serious concerns about how they were applied in her case.
