Fortnite’s One Piece crossover has sent players searching for a rare Pirate Shop token that grants temporary access to most of the in-game item shop for free. Players who find one can claim eligible items for two weeks, and anything claimed stays on their account permanently. Real-money offers, gifts and Battle Pass rewards are excluded.
The hunt has also prompted attempts to gain an advantage. Players have shared ways to trigger the token drop more quickly, including using grenades and cannonballs to destroy chests inside locked vaults and open several at once without finding a key. Others are advertising paid help or tools to automate the search.
Epic has not disclosed the token’s drop rate. Player estimates put it at roughly one token per 700,000 chests, though that figure has not been confirmed by the company.
Accounts advertised as having Pirate Shop access have also appeared on eBay, with asking prices of $9,000 and $10,000. The listings had no bids at the time of the report. Fortnite’s terms prohibit buying and selling accounts, as well as cheating and exploiting, and violations can result in account bans. Buyers also risk losing access if an account is banned or its previous owner reports it as stolen.
“Buying an account or using fake tools is a scam,” Epic said. The company added that Pirate Shop Access works like other Battle Royale chest drops, giving every player an equal opportunity to find it.
