Mason Thames has been cast as Dick Grayson, also known as Robin, in DC’s upcoming animated film Dynamic Duo. DC Studios co-head Peter Safran confirmed the casting in an interview with Collider, saying Thames pursued the role enthusiastically and impressed the studio in his audition.
The film is expected to focus on Dick Grayson and Jason Todd during their earliest days as Robin. The available information does not confirm whether Batman will appear or act as their mentor.
Dynamic Duo is set to combine CGI animation with stop motion and puppetry. Safran described the Swaybox technology behind the project as distinctive, noting that the production uses puppets with CGI overlays and is filmed with real cameras.
Dynamic Duo is scheduled to reach theaters on September 22, 2028.
