Ubisoft is reportedly one of several potential buyers seeking to acquire Arkane from Microsoft, according to Bloomberg. Two other gaming companies have also made bids, and Microsoft is considering the possibility of selling the studio to its own management.

No deal has been formalised, and Bloomberg reports that the outcome remains uncertain. An Xbox spokesperson told the outlet that the company is exploring its options ahead of a December deadline, but declined to comment further. Ubisoft reportedly had no comment.

The deadline is linked to French labour laws, which require companies with more than 1,000 employees to seek a buyer for three months before they can shut down. Bloomberg reports that December 13 is the final date for a deal. If Arkane is sold, the studio would be able to continue work on its Blade game, which is expected to launch within the next couple of years.
