An alleged remake of the first Persona game has appeared in an unofficial YouTube video, despite Atlus making no announcement about the project. The trailer, uploaded by a newly created account, reportedly includes gameplay, combat and dialogue presented as an Unreal Engine remake.
The video has drawn attention amid ongoing concerns that artificial intelligence can be used to create convincing game footage and images. Some members of the Persona community nevertheless believe the material could be genuine and may represent an official Atlus project that leaked online. Debate continues over whether the footage shows actual gameplay or was created for a presentation.
Atlus is known to be aware of fan interest in remakes of the first two Persona games and has expressed interest in making them. However, the company is currently focused on Persona 4 Revival and Persona 6, making it unclear whether a Persona 1 Remake is in development or whether the video has any official connection to Atlus.
