With GTA 6 scheduled to launch on November 19, 2026, its official merchandise is already dividing players. The products lean heavily on bright colors associated with Vice City, a look some critics consider dated and at odds with the series’ more realistic presentation.
One example is a collaboration announced by Rockstar, Nike and Cactus Jack, Travis Scott’s brand, on November 1. It features three versions of the Air Force 1 Low ’07 RS in Black/Fire Pink, White/Fire Pink and Multi-Color. The designs include Scott’s reversed Swoosh, a prominent money-band detail and six stars on the sole, referencing the game’s wanted system. The shoes are listed at $130.
The wider Vice City-themed collection has also drawn criticism. The Goodtime State Vice City Collection, listed on Rockstar’s official store for $400, uses fuchsia pink across its backgrounds, packaging and products. Critics argue that the color-heavy presentation makes the items look more playful than the crime-focused game they represent.
The palette has a connection to Vice City’s history: pink and other vivid shades were central to the original game’s 1980s setting. But the article argues that the retro look now feels familiar rather than fresh, after years of nostalgia-driven entertainment and brands adopting similar visuals.
The collection has prompted debate on Reddit, with comparisons to GTA V’s collector’s edition. That earlier set, priced at around 130 euros, was described as more restrained and immersive, with items linked to the atmosphere of Los Santos and its heists. The contrast has fueled criticism that GTA 6’s merchandise does not reflect the grounded style some fans associate with the franchise.
