Bandai Namco has announced Mobile Suit Gundam Battle Operation 3, a free-to-play team action game and sequel to 2018’s Battle Operation 2. Its first trailer shows Gundam units fighting across large battlefields, alongside infantry combat beneath the mechs.
The company plans to hold a network test in Japan from November 20 to 22, with an open network test to follow at a later date. The announcement trailer does not provide a release date.
The game follows Gundam Evolution, Bandai Namco’s 2022 team shooter, which shut down a year after its launch. Evolution drew criticism for making some playable units available through real-money purchases. Battle Operation 3’s trailer includes a notice that some content may require purchase, though details of its monetisation have not been announced.
