Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 has achieved massive worldwide success and received additional localizations following its launch, yet an official Italian voice-over was never included. To partially remedy this omission, Italian voice actor Alessandro Campaiola launched an initiative to demonstrate how the title would sound in his native language.
Campaiola regularly hosts a segment on his social media channels where he dubs iconic scenes from series, films, and video games that lack localization in Italy. His latest project focuses on the winner of the Game of the Year award at The Game Awards 2025. This specific video was created in collaboration with Andrea Ward, another well-known Italian voice actor and brother of Luca Ward, the historic voice behind characters such as Sam Fisher and Johnny Silverhand.
In the video, Campaiola and Ward lend their voices to the characters Renoir and Verso. Their performance offers Italian players a concrete idea of what a fully localized version of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 could sound like. The developers Sandfall Interactive released the turn-based RPG for PC, Xbox Series X, PS5, and Steam Deck on April 24, 2025, with Bandai Namco Games serving as the publisher.
Viewers are advised that the video contains spoilers, as it is based on an advanced scene in the game's story. It is not recommended for those who have not yet played or completed the title. The initiative serves as a creative response to the absence of official Italian audio, allowing fans to experience the narrative through the voices of established local talent.
