Phantom Blade Zero has become one of 2026’s strongest-selling games after S-Game confirmed that its wuxia RPG sold more than 4 million copies worldwide within 72 hours of release. The game launched digitally on October 29 and had a particularly strong opening weekend.
The title has received generally positive feedback, earning a score of 88 on Metacritic and reaching the top of Steam’s charts. Its combat has drawn attention for its detailed kung fu animations and cinematic presentation, although some players considered its difficulty less demanding than expected.
Phantom Blade Zero also recorded 833,000 concurrent players within hours of launch. That figure made it the second-most-played single-player game of the year, behind Palworld, according to the information available in the original report.
S-Game’s result is impressive, although it remains below the opening-weekend performance of Black Myth: Wukong, which sold 10 million copies in a comparable period. Phantom Blade Zero’s sales could continue to grow during the week and potentially bring it closer to the leading games of 2026.
The game currently has a digital-only release and is a timed console exclusive on PlayStation 5. An Xbox version and a physical edition are expected in 2027, providing further opportunities for sales growth.
Although Phantom Blade Zero includes soulslike elements, its director has emphasized that the game is not designed around extreme difficulty. Instead, it focuses on accessibility, cinematic action and rewarding precise combat with elaborate animations.
