Developer S-GAME has revealed impressive sales figures for their latest Action game, Phantom Blade Zero. The title has exceeded 4 million units sold in just three days following its release on PlayStation 5 and PC. This commercial success is particularly notable given that the game launched only a few days prior to the highly anticipated GTA 6.
The game reinterprets the Wuxia genre, blending Chinese martial arts narratives with frenetic combat powered by Unreal Engine 5. Players assume the role of Soul, a warrior who has only 66 days left to live after being falsely accused of murdering his master. To survive, Soul must evade former companions turned hunters while uncovering a conspiracy threatening the world.
The gameplay features over 30 weapons and 20 Phantom Edges, which are special abilities that can be combined to adapt the combat system to individual playstyles. Additionally, players can acquire weapons and learn techniques from specific defeated enemies. A defining element of the production is its "Kungfupunk" style, which merges traditional martial arts with industrial mechanical atmospheres, drawing inspiration from the golden age of Hong Kong action cinema.
