A Prince of Persia fan has offered Ubisoft more than €5 million to help resume development and complete Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake. Ubisoft cancelled the project in January 2026, but the fan says the offer is intended to help bring the game to players rather than secure a financial return or a stake in the franchise.

The proposal was shared in an open letter on X. The fan says the €5 million is an initial budget that could be directed toward exploring the project’s feasibility, subject to a formal agreement and conditions set by Ubisoft. The letter also says the fan does not want to interfere with the company’s creative direction or business decisions.

The remake was first announced in 2020 and was intended to rebuild the early-2000s PlayStation 2 game. Ubisoft previously said the project would need more time and investment than the company could responsibly commit to. The fan is seeking an official channel through which to present the offer to Ubisoft.
