Behaviour Interactive has published a second statement addressing the controversy over a team member granting Dead by Daylight content to streamer TheBurntPeanut during a livestream. The studio said its earlier response left important questions unanswered and set out what went wrong, as well as changes it plans to make.

The incident took place over the weekend, when an employee used Behaviour’s official account to give TheBurntPeanut paid in-game content for free. The streamer reportedly remarked that the gift could cause problems, prompting the employee to reply, “WE CAN TAKE THE HEAT!” Behaviour later apologised, but its response drew criticism both for condemning the creator without explaining the reasons and for appearing to blame an individual employee.

In its new statement, the studio said its usual review of a creator’s past content had not been properly carried out or discussed as a group. It also acknowledged that its internal safeguards were not strong enough to prevent staff from granting items without broader approval. Behaviour said the employee’s public replies during the stream were inappropriate and escalated the situation.

The company described its values as respect, transparency and diversity, saying it wants to create a space where people with different backgrounds and experiences feel welcome. It maintained that partnering with a creator associates the studio’s name with that person, and that collaborators should support those principles.

Behaviour said the gifted content has been removed. It also plans to revise its guidelines for staff interactions with creators, clarify which employees may engage with them, and change the approval process for granting in-game content and currency. The studio said it will address communication standards and remove creators from its Creator Program if they are found to have violated its rules.

The studio did not disclose what action it is taking regarding the employee, describing the matter as confidential and saying it is handling it internally. Behaviour acknowledged that the episode had damaged trust with the community and said rebuilding it would take time.
