Remedy’s revenue rose 226% to €39.6 million in the third quarter following the September release of Control Resonant, the company’s fastest-selling game to date. The developer also reported an operating profit of €0.6 million, compared with an operating loss of €16.4 million in the same quarter last year.

CEO Jean-Charles Gaudechon described the results as “a defining milestone” for Remedy. The company said nearly half of Control Resonant’s players were new to the franchise, which it identified as a key goal for the game. The United States accounted for nearly half of its players across PC and console, followed by Chinese-speaking regions and the UK.

The launch also lifted sales of Control (2019), which performed better this quarter than in each of the previous two quarters and the same period last year. Gaudechon said Remedy’s focus is now on getting Control Resonant to more players. The studio is also working on other projects, including remakes of Max Payne and Max Payne 2.
