Remedy Entertainment’s revenue rose 226% to €39.6 million in the third quarter following the September release of Control Resonant. CEO Jean-Charles Gaudechon described the results as a defining milestone for the studio.

The company reported an operating profit of €0.6 million, compared with a €16.4 million operating loss in the same quarter last year. Control Resonant has sold more than one million units, making it Remedy’s fastest-selling title to date. The United States accounted for most sales, and the game has also performed well in the UK. Remedy said half of its players were new to the franchise.

Gaudechon said attracting new players was a key goal and that the early results point to a growing audience for both the series and the studio. Remedy also said its earlier game, Control, recorded increased sales. Control Resonant has accumulated 2.4 million wishlists, which Gaudechon described as a potential audience for future sales.

Gaudechon cited positive player reviews, performance across the company’s target markets and the wishlist total as support for the game’s longer-term sales prospects. Remedy plans to continue promoting it, while also working on other projects, including a remake of Max Payne 1 and 2.

Elsewhere in the company’s portfolio, Remedy said most players of FBC: Firebreak access it through subscription services such as Game Pass and PlayStation Plus, and the game is generating less revenue in its second year. The Alan Wake franchise had a quieter quarter, while development costs capitalized for Alan Wake 2 were fully depreciated during the third quarter.
